JIO dil se~

"When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it"

Today's discussion is about Jio. Facts, reviews, after and before life and some basic information.

LogoStarting with a short description on what is Jio, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited is a LTE mobile network operator in India. It is wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries headquarteres in Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra) that provides wireless 4G LTE service network and is the only 'VoLTE-only' (Voice over LTE) operator in the country which lacks legacy network support of 2G and 3G, with coverage across all 22 telecom circles in India, by Mukesh Ambani.

Founded with flying colours in 2010, the services were first beta-launched on 27 December 2015 on the eve of 83rd birth anniversary of late Dhirubhai Ambani, founder of Reliance Industries, and later services were commercially launched on 5 September 2016.

This is something important to know. Jio wasn't originally Jio. It was IBSl.

In June 2010, Reliance Industries bought a 96% stake in Infotel Broadband Services Limited (IBSL) for ₹4,800cr. Although unlisted, IBSL was the only firm to win broadband spectrum in all 22 zones in India in the 4G auction that took place earlier that year. Later continuing as RIL's telecom subsidiary, Infotel Broadband Services Limited was renamed as Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) in January 2013.

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, who is also the brand ambassador of Jio, kickstarted the launch event which took place in Reliance Corporate Park in Navi Mumbai, along with celebrities like musician A R Rahman, actors Ranbir Kapoor and Javed Jaffrey, and filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani.

In May 2016, Jio launched a bundle of multimedia apps on Google Play such as MyJio, JioTV, JioCinema, Jio Chat, JioMusic and many more.

Found all this irksome? So here are some facts about Jio Service-

1. Jio has about 25000 km network of optical fibre cable in India.
2. Jio have installed more than 90000, 4 G LTE towers.
3. They have erected mobile towers that look like trees.
4. They own two international submarine cable landing stations.
5. The only company to have 4G spectrum in all 22 zones.
6. They only have 4G.
7. Jio is aiming to provide Wi-Fi hotspots all over the country.
8. Everyday there are 5-7 lakh people joining the Jio service.
9. Jio said it has made 1 crore and 60 lakhs customer in its first month, amazing, right?
10. Maximum Jio customers are from Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.

My personal review on Jio:
It’s no secret that Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio has been at war with the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), which essentially means incumbent operators like Vodafone and Airtel, over points-of-interconnect (PoI).
It's been a month since I am using Jio, and honestly, I appreciate the efforts of the company. Yes, the results are not at the peak, but it's better to grow more than stand still at the mountain peak. I am sure Jio is working damn hard to improve it's services. It does not only provide free voice calls, video calls, TV, Cinema but most importantly, it provides FREE INTERNET for the first 6 months. And guess what, internet speed is damn high at night, when most of the youth wants it xD Truly, it is a legacy to Indian people.
But, you cannot clap using one hand right? So some of the shortcomings of Jio could be the effect on children, like me I guess :p After the Jio launch, the time for smartphones swapped. People not only enjoy downloading stuff, they also watch movies and shows using Mobile Data, which previously was done using Wifi.

One can always look for the positive side of an effort and I honestly love the service provided by Jio. Not only it helped employees, students and house-makers but also the rural population of India. I hope Mr. Mukesh Ambani keeps up his work. His efforts are appreciable. Technology has taken a different side now and I hope people continue to rise at their best.
